Started as a cathedral chorister and over the years has taken part in many musical and dramatic performances

David Keene - Chairman

David worked as a dental surgeon for the Royal Air Force both at home and abroad and later in orthodontic practice in the Oxford area. He continues to sing for local choirs and follows his other interests of gardening, wine and sport.

Jessica Dromgoole - Patron

Jessica is producer and director of drama for radio and theatre.  At the BBC, she made over 300 radio plays, and was the editor of Home Front, the daily drama on Radio 4. Recently, she has worked with Hampstead Theatre, the National Theatre and Audible, and is currently creating Glenvern Stories, a 34-episode drama for the NHS. 

Roger has worked with artists as varied as cellist Andrea Hess and soprano Catherine Bott in recording his music for television.

Roger Simmonds - Musical Director

Roger is a composer, musical director and teacher. He has written seven operas, which have been performed across the UK including the Young Vic and has written extensively for choirs and voice. He has also composed music for television. Many of Roger’s students have gone on to forge professional musical careers for themselves, and Roger brings his ability to develop young talent to OCO.

Roy Gordon - Financial Director

With a doctorate in Medical Physics Roy has had a successful business career in the field of scientific instrumentation and magnetic resonance imaging with Oxford Instruments and the Bruker Group of Companies. Since retirement Roy now spends his time following his interests in music, antiques and local planning.

 

Matthew Maier - Trustee

Matthew Maier has been a practising architect for nearly 40 years having qualified in Oxford in 1985 but is now planning to pass his practice on to the next generation.  He has a wide-ranging interest in materials and how objects are made whether it is a building, a piece of furniture or a pot. For many years he was an external examiner at Oxford Brookes University.  Matthew is a keen amateur singer and is the secretary of Wheatley Singers.  In addition to his love of opera and other music he enjoys being in his boat and under sail.
